My name is Armando and I am a slave in Austin. I was promised a job in here and was forced to live and work in a factory without pay. I am a slave.

A man came to my village in El Salvador promising technical skill training in the United States. He wore a business suit and had official contract to sign – all in English. When we arrived to the factory in Austin, TX we found out that we had to live there and that all of our paychecks (which was much less than they promised) were deducted to cover travel and living expenses. I never saw a dime. When one man tried to leave they cut him across his face with a knife. I thought this was a legitimate job offer to provide for my family and broaden my skills.
